The Plunge’s Saturday Review: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 26/2

A dominant win to rising mare Forbidden Love helped followers take home a fat 7 units of profit on Saturday and helped take our subscription’s total to over 50 units of profit. The horse I’ve black booked from the Chipping Norton meeting is a lightly raced 6yo mare from the O’Shea yard.

The Plunge’s Service Results since December 2020:
  • +56.8 units of profit
  • 131 bets: 36 wins/42 placings

Promise of Success – Randwick

  • Race 6
  • Distance: 1400m
  • Class: G2 Guy Walter Stakes Set Weights Mares

Promise of Success caught the eye when flashing home from back in the field Saturday and looks capable of winning a feature race over the carnival. She does have a racing pattern that results in her always flashing home with fast sectionals and more often for a placing than a win but I do believe she will be better next start when stepping up in distance.

When To Bet

From a punting perspective I’d rather see her in something easier in the mares grade as she was quite well beaten by Forbidden Love but the O’Shea camp will more than likely jump at the opportunity to start her in the G1 Coolmore in a fortnight’s time. The positive with that would be that she’ll have a big field with plenty of speed on which will suit her get back and run on pattern.
