However, Russian Conquest’s ability to close off and easily second place 0.2L behind the short priced favourite should not be under valued. She was a couple of lengths behind Coolangatta at the turn and managed to close off nicely over the final 100m when the race was over on a day where it was tough to make ground on a track recording quick times.
