Stephen Curry scores 56 points in Golden State win over Orlando

For the 14th time in his National Basketball Association career, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry of Akron, Ohio scored 50 or more points in a game. He accomplished the feat on Thursday in a 121-115 Warriors win over the Orlando Magic. Curry in fact scored 56 points, the fourth most points he has ever scored in a single game.
In the Warriors win over the Magic, Curry made 16 of 25 field goals, 12 of 19 three-pointers, and all 12 free throw attempts. He added four rebounds, three assists, and two steals, and was a +15.
Stephen Curry’s personal high for most points in a game was 62, which he accomplished on January 3, 2021. Curry also had 60 points in a 141-134 Warriors loss to the Atlanta Hawks on February 3, 2024, and 57 points in a 134-132 Warriors loss to the Dallas Mavericks on February 6, 2021.
Curry’s 14 50-point games are tied for seventh all-time with LeBron James and Rick Barry. The NBA all-time leader in 50 point games is Wilt Chamberlain, who remarkably had 118 50-point games.
So far this season, Curry is averaging 23.3 points per game, 6.1 assists per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, and one steal per game. He has a field goal percentage of .439, three point percentage of .387, and a free throw percentage of .927.
Curry is well known by the fact that he is the NBA’s best ever three point shooter, as he has made 3957, the most ever. What you may not know is that Curry has emerged as the best free throw shooter too–his .911 free throw shooting percentage is the best all-time.
With the win, the Warriors are at 32 wins and 27 losses. They have won five straight games.
