Six NFL trades on same day leading up to start of 2022 NFL season

There are eight days now until the start of the 2022 National Football League regular season. On Tuesday, there were six different trades according to spotrac.com. Let’s take a look who were dealt.
Malik Reed
The outside linebacker from Dothan, Alabama was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Pittsburgh Steelers with a seventh round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for a sixth round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In 14 games this past year, he had 43 combined tackles (24 solo tackles and 19 assisted tackles), eight quarterback hits, three tackles for a loss, two pass deflections, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. The fumble recovery came in a 27-13 Broncos win over the New York Giants to start the 2021 NFL regular season.
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson
The safety from Cocoa, Florida was traded from the New Orleans Saints to the Philadelphia Eagles with a seventh round draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft for a fifth round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and a sixth round draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. In 2021, Gardner-Johnson had 46 combined tackles (32 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles), four tackles for a loss, four quarterback hits, two sacks, three interceptions for 45 yards and seven pass deflections.

Grant Stuard
The linebacker from Conroe, Texas was traded from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Indianapolis Colts with a seventh round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for a sixth round draft in the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2021, Stuard had 15 combined tackles (eight solo tackles and seven assisted tackles) and one forced fumble. The forced fumble came in a 30-17 Buccaneers win over the Atlanta Falcons on December 5.
Ross Blacklock
The defensive tackle from Missouri City, Texas was traded from the Houston Texans to the Minnesota Vikings with a seventh round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for a sixth round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2021, Blacklock had 22 combined tackles (14 solo tackles and eight assisted tackles), two tackles for a loss, six quarterback hits, two pass deflections, two sacks and one forced fumble.
Trayvon Mullen
The cornerback from Fort Lauderdale, Florida was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Arizona Cardinals for a seventh round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2021, Mullen had 20 combined tackles (17 solo tackles and three assisted tackles), one interception for 15 yards and four pass deflections. Mullen’s interception came in a 26-17 Raiders win over the Baltimore Ravens on September 19.
Jesse Davis
The offensive tackle from Asotin, Washington was traded from the Minnesota Vikings to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a seventh round draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Last season, Davis played for the Miami Dolphins and had one fumble recovery in a 33-10 Dolphins win over the Carolina Panthers on November 28. Davis signed with Minnesota on March 28, but never played for the Vikings.
