March 10, 2022

According to the Associated Press on Tuesday, the Seattle Seahawks have traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos in a blockbuster National Football League trade. In addition to Wilson, the Broncos will receive a fourth round draft pick in the NFL Draft. The Seahawks meanwhile will receive two first round draft picks, two second round draft picks, a fifth round draft pick, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive end Shelby Harris, and tight end Noah Fant.
Wilson will be joining his second NFL team after 10 years in Seattle. The nine-time Pro Bowler completed 259 of 400 passes for 3113 yards, and 25 touchdowns, along with six interceptions in 2021. He also had 43 rushes for 183 yards and two touchdowns last season.
In his career, Wilson, a native of Cincinnati, has completed 3079 passes for 37059 yards, and 292 touchdown passes. His 34 touchdown passes in 2017 led the NFL. In Wilson’s second NFL season in 2013, Wilson was a Super Bowl champion.
Wilson also leads the Seahawks in many franchise categories. They include passing yards in a career (29734), touchdown passes in a career (227), rushing yards by a quarterback in a career (3993), rushing yards by a quarterback in a season (849 in 2014), passing yards in a season (4219 in 2016), passing yards in a game (452 against the Houston Texans in a 41-38 Seattle win on October 29, 2017), completions in a season (353 in 2016), and passing touchdowns in a season (35 in 2018).

Lock, a native of Columbia, Missouri, has played three seasons for the Broncos. Last season he was the backup to Teddy Bridgewater. In three starts, Lock was unable to lead the Broncos to victory.
