Center Nick Harris of Inglewood, California is returning to the Cleveland Browns. The 25-year-old offensive lineman played three seasons with the Browns in 2020, 2021, and 2023, before  signing with the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year deal worth $1.395 million on March 13. Now according to Field Level Media on Monday, the Seahawks traded Harris back to the Browns for a sixth round draft pick in the 2026 National Football League Draft. In addition to Harris, the Browns received a seventh round draft pick in the 2026 NFL Draft from the Seahawks.
The Browns were in need of a center when Luke Wypler of Englewood, New Jersey broke his ankle in a meaningless preseason contest on August 10. For those that care about the NFL exhibition play, the Browns lost 23-10 to the Green Bay Packers.
Harris, meanwhile, was expected to contend with Olusegun Oluwatimi of Upper Marlboro, Maryland for the starting center job. However, the Seahawks have now gone into a different direction after coming to terms with Connor Williams of Coppell, Texas to a one-year deal worth $6 million. Williams played the last two years with the Miami Dolphins where he was making $7 million per year. Prior to playing two seasons with Miami, Williams played four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.
Harris has played 40 games over the last three seasons with the Browns. He had one solo tackle which came on Christmas Day, 2021.
Williams, meanwhile had one fumble recovery for seven yards in his career. It came on September 11, 2022 in a 20-7 Dolphins win over the New England Patriots.
