Then the record-setting grand slam on Thursday was hit by Hosmer in the fifth inning. It scored Austin Hedges, Tatis Jr. and Machado and put San Diego up 5-2 at the time. The 366 foot home run was hit off of Rangers starting pitcher Kyle Gibson.

San Diego is now in second place in the National League West. They have a record of 15 wins and 12 losses.
