Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson tests positive for coronavirus
November 27, 2020

According to Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports on Thursday, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson of Pompano Beach, Florida has tested positive for coronavirus. This past week there was a coronavirus outbreak within the Ravens organization, and subsequently, their game on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers was postponed until Sunday.
Heading into the 2020 National Football League season you could have made the argument that Jackson was the best all-around quarterback in the game. Last year when he was the NFL’s most valuable player, he completed 265 passes in 401 attempts for a NFL-high 36 touchdown passes. He also had 3127 passing yards, and 1206 rushing yards. Jackson also led the NFL in rushing yards per attempt (6.9), and quarterback rating (82.3).
This season, Jackson’s overall numbers have dipped a little. He has completed 175 of 276 pass attempts for 1948 yards, 15 touchdowns, and a lower quarterback rating of 62.3. Jackson also already has the same number of interceptions (six), as he did all of last year, and only has 575 rushing yards.
The Ravens meanwhile, have dipped this season in the win column. The Ravens are only at 6-4, and are in third place in the AFC North. Baltimore was at 14-2 last season before being upset 28-12 by the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Divisional Playoff in January.

At this time the Steelers/Ravens game on Sunday is probably in question. The Ravens have nine positive tests, and it might be difficult for them to get things under control by Sunday. According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports, the NFL Media have already reported that the Ravens have disciplined a strength and conditioning coach for violating coronavirus protocols. However, the Ravens are not disclosing the coach’s name at this time.
