According to Joseph Zucker of Bleacher Report on Tuesday, there was a blockbuster trade on Tuesday involving the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders. The Jets have acquired wide receiver Davante Adams of East Palo Alto, California for a draft pick in the 2025 National Football League Draft.
The draft pick is currently a third round conditional pick. However, it will be upgraded to a second round pick if Adams is named to the Associated Press first or second All Pro team, or is on the Jets roster for the AFC Championship or Super Bowl.
The Jets have a lot of work to do in order to reach the AFC Championship or Super Bowl. They are currently at two wins and four losses after their Monday night defeat by a score of 23-20 at the hands of their AFC East and New York state rivals, Buffalo Bills.
A native of Redwood City, California, Adams has 18 catches for 209 receiving yards and one touchdown. The major score came in week two in a 26-23 Raiders win over the Baltimore Ravens. In this huge Raiders upset where they won as an 8.5 point underdog, Adams had his best game of the season, as he had nine catches for 110 receiving yards and one touchdown. One must realize the Ravens defensive line is significantly better than their secondary.
Adams is joining his third NFL franchise. He was previously with the Green Bay Packers for eight seasons from 2014 to 2021, and the last three seasons with the Raiders. In New York, Adams will be reunited with his old quarterback in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers. In five consecutive seasons from 2017 t0 2021 while Adams was with the Packers, he was selected to the Pro Bowl. Adams was also selected to the Pro Bowl while with the Raiders in 2022.
