RACING TIPS: Canterbury 19/11 Best Selection & Value Play

Midweek Sydney racing returns to Canterbury on Wednesday with some quality on show. Our analyst likes a Godolphin/Pride runner coming off an outstanding Gosford win and an O’Shea & Charlton 4yo bringing Green Shadows form as the value play.

Best Selection: R6- Crepe Myrtle

Crepe Myrtle was outstanding winning by 1.3L at Gosford last start where nothing went her way from the wide gate. She was caught 3-wide pressing forward and was forced to work the whole way before still showing a kick at the top of the straight and holding off horses that has a much more economical runs late.

Value Selection: R3 – Sarrismo

This looks a great set up for Sarrismo after he was 0.6L 2nd at Wyong to subsequent G3 Spring Stakes winner Green Spaces at Newcastle on Saturday. There was a 6L gap back to 3rd so I expected that form to hold strong in this race. I’m not too worried about the outside gate as he stepped slow 2 starts back and it will give him an opportunity to muster if that happens again.
