With back-to-back days of racing at Randwick this Saturday our analyst has selected a Pfieffer 3yo coming off a massive midweek win on debut and a Baker gelding that has turned in a pair of unlucky 2nds so far this prep.
View our best selection and value play below.
Best Selection: R5- Ice Kool
David Pfieffer looks to have an exciting 3yo stepping up to Saturday grade at start 2. He was met with with heavy market support prior to his debut at Warwick Farm after a big 5L trial win and he didn’t disappoint. He was only away fairly before mustering enough speed to open a 3L lead on settling. He shot clear at the top of the straight and went on with it to record a 3.4L victory. His final 100m was his strongest, which suggests he will he strong enough to step up to 1100m here. The overall time of 56.31s was 0.14s faster than Swordplay’s impressive 3.5L win in BM72 company later in the day.Â
Value Selection: R8- Snack Bar
Snack Bar looks primed to win 3rd up after a pair of 2nds in this grade. He copped a bad check before fighting out the finish to run 0.2L to Lyles over 1100m at Rosehill last start. His 2nd up run over this track/distance was outstanding. He settled off midfield and was 3-wide without cover the trip. He looked nothing but the winner looming up at the 200m before the tough run told the final 50m going down in a photo finish. He should be peaking for this and is due some luck.
