The G1 Winx Stakes headlines the return of Group 1 racing at Randwick this Saturday. Our analyst likes an undefeated Waterhouse/Bott filly resuming in the Silver Shadow and is calling an upset in the G1 Winx Stakes.
Best Selection: R6- Agarwood
Agarwood looks to be absolutely flying resuming on the back of a 5L Warwick Farm trial win before a 3.3L Goulburn trial win. She recorded a pair of 2.3L and 2.5L wins at Warwick Farm and Randwick on a Heavy in her only 2 career starts to date. She will land on-speed and looks fit enough to perform 1st up.
Value Selection: R8- Gringotts
Gringotts is a horse on the rise progressing from a Big Dance win on Cup Day in 2024 to a Gong win the next start and then a G1 George Ryder win over Fangirl in the autumn. He has never raced on a Heavy but brings a 4: 3-1-0 Soft track record and looked to get through the Heavy well in a recent Gosford trial win. The wide draw should allow Berry to get him to the outside easily finding the better going later in the day.
