Pinjarra Tip Sheet & Staking Plan – Monday 28th December

Beautiful day for public holiday racing at Pinjarra for a 9 race card. Rail in the true and there’s a few that really interest me on what is traditionally a very good day of racing at one of the more underrated tracks in WA racing.

Race 1 – 12:29PM MAGIC MILLIONS LADIES DAY SAT FEB 6 MAIDEN (2000m)
2. Glenaureen – 1. Tne Roan Ranger – 5. One For The Road – 6. Icarian

Race 2 – 1:10PM RACING NEW YEARS DAY @PINJARRA PARK MAIDEN (1300m)

6. Karli’s Karma – 9. Pure Devotion – 8. Private Number – 7. Lunar Impact

Karli’s Karma
Karli’s Karma is way over the odds here despite the alley. Last start ran 2nd behind Saving Memphis when 3 back the fence from gate 1, just found bum after bum from straightening till the 150m before really hunting the line late to miss in the closest of finishes. Maps to more than likely get back in the field from the gate here and hopeful he can sit in that 2-3 deep line with cover, get a toe into it and be running on down the middle late in what looks a very moderate, winnable maiden.

Race 3 – 1:50PM ALCOA PARTNERING WITH OUR COMMUNITY MAIDEN (1300m)

9. Oceanzara – 3. Prize Pursuit – 1. Rosso Tempesta – 2. Guarded

Oceanzara
Really keen Oceanzara can break her maiden and deliver Kirsten Melis her first winner here. The 1st up effort for the new trainer in what I think was a pretty strong CL1 was super. Was a tad slow away, settled in the last trio and was really bolting for a run just passing the 200m when held up for a run and really hit the line late up the rail. That was against much stronger opposition than she faces here, with the winner having form around Dani Bella (subsequent winner) and Sheza Chalmer (Saturday Ascot 2nd placegetter). Love the rise to the 1300m, love the booking of Shooter Mcgruddy who is one of the best at getting horses to jump which can hopefully have her leaving the stalls sharper than she did 1st up, and think she looks very hard to beat here.

Race 4 – 2:30PM MANDURAH CUP @ PINJARRA PARK NEW YEARS DAY HANDICAP (1200m)

8. Bosnipp – 9. Agent Kensington – 2. Pinball Player – 12. Timely Outburst

Race 6 – 3:40PM PEOPLESTART HANDICAP (1400m)
9. Mischievous Diva – 8. Powerful Force – 1. Surf Point – 11. Ran A Red Light
Mischievous Diva
Want to have something on Mischievous Diva here up to the 1400m. Ran home in some really nice late sectionals over the 1200m in that last start maiden behind Saving Memphis and Karli’s Karma, just got a bit too far out of her ground. Clearly talented with a pattern that can hurt her chances, as shown by her 3rd behind Clairvoyance on debut when she was a bit stiff to not have finished closer, but if she can find some cover just worse than midfield from the gate here in that 2-3 wide line, I think with her turn of foot she is going to be too sharp for these, just needs a bit of luck.

5. Jay Dee – 6. Gunmetal Grey – 2. Dash Doll – 7. Reguardless

Going to have another small play here in race 7 on a runner who for me brings the most superior formlines into the race. The 1st up effort had merit when leading on a soft track at Ascot which favoured the middle of the track on the day, before last start running 3rd behind Miss Ivy League and Regal Magic over the 1300m here when leading them up and only being nabbed very late. Regal Magic has since won really well last Saturday at Ascot while Miss Ivy League stepped into listed level and was far from disgraced, with the horse that finished behind her in that race Beat The Bell also winning well on Saturday at Ascot, so the form looks really strong for a moderate CL1. Gets into this CL1 with less weight for the best apprentice in the state, maps to sit outside the only other tactical leader in the race Dash Doll who is stepping up from Maiden to CL1 grade, and should be every chance from there.
