Panthers acquire WR Laviska Shenault from Jaguars and trade tackle Dennis Daley to Titans
August 31, 2022

The Carolina Panthers were involved in two separate transactions on Monday according to spotrac.com. They traded offensive tackle Dennis Daley of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a seventh round pick in the 2024 National Football League Draft to the Tennessee Titans for a fifth round draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Carolina also acquired wide receiver Laviska Shenault of Irving, Texas from the Jacksonville Jaguars for the seventh round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and the sixth round draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Daley has spent his first three NFL seasons with the Panthers. He had one fumble recovery in 34 games. The fumble recovery came in a 20-0 Panthers shutout win over the Detroit Lions on November 22, 2020. Daley can play left tackle and left guard. He was initially the Panthers’s sixth round pick, 212th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Daley played his college football at the University of South Carolina.

Shenault had 63 catches for 619 yards in 2021. In his career, he has 121 catches for 1219 yards and five touchdowns. Shenault was initially the Jaguars’ second round pick, 42nd overall in the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Colorado.
It will now be interesting to see the level of chemistry that Shenault develops with new Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield of Austin, Texas. Like Shenault, Mayfield came to the Panthers in the offseason, as he was dealt on July 6 from the Cleveland Browns for a conditional draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Browns receive a fifth round draft pick in 2024. However the pick is upgraded to a fourth round draft pick if Mayfield has 70% of the snaps in 2024.
