The PGA Tour moves from the island of Hawaii to the California Swing this week for the American Express. This tournament is challenging because three different courses are used over four days in the Palm Springs region. At one time this tournament was a marathon, as it was a 90-hole event over five days. However, it has been 72 holes since 2012. Here are the three golfers we like the most this week.Â
Adam Hadwin
The veteran Canadian who is best known for being steamrolled by a security guard at the end of the 2023 Canadian Open, has had some outstanding results at the American Express over the years. He finished in second place to Hudson Swafford in 2017, and then was second to Adam Long in 2019. The native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, is currently 54th in the world.

Sungjae Im
The native of Cheongju-si South Korea has been in the top 20 five times he has competed at the American Express. When he competed at the Sentry earlier this month, he posted a tournament record 34 birdies, before finishing in fifth place at -25. However Im was not the top Korean at the Sentry, as Byeong-hun An was tied for fourth at -26.

Chris Kirk
The native of Knoxville, Tennessee was excellent in Hawaii. First he won the Sentry with a -29, and then was a respectable 18th place after shooting a -11 in Oahu. That is a combined total score of -40 over his last eight rounds of golf. It will now be interesting to see if Kirk can continue his success on to the mainland of the United States. We are counting on it!
