Our three best tips for the 2025 Sentry Tournament of Champions
January 2, 2025

The 2025 PGA Tour season begins on Thursday from Kapalua, Hawaii with the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Here are the the three golfers we like the most in Maui.
Xander Schauffele
The 2024 PGA Championship winner and 2024 British Open champion winner becomes the favourite this week when Scottie Scheffler cut his hand from a broken glass while preparing Christmas dinner. The accident left glass fragments in Scheffler’s palm that required surgery to remove and forced the world number one to miss the start of the golf calendar. Do not be surprised that Scheffler hires chefs in the kitchen on a full-time basis for the foreseeable future to prevent future injuries.

Justin Thomas
The native of Lexington, Kentucky qualified for the Sentry Tournament of Champions by being in the top 50 in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, as he was ranked 19th. Traditionalists like myself believe Thomas should not be allowed to attend (did not win in 2024), and will not be cheering for him this week as a result. That said, Thomas needs to be considered a contender because he won in Kapaula in 2017 and 2020.
Justin Thomas is $11.00 to win the 2024 Tour Championship. View Bet365 Odds
Colin Morikawa
Like Thomas, Morikawa is in the Sentry Tournament of Champions because he finished fourth in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. It is interesting that Morikawa finished fourth when he never won a PGA tournament last year. However, Morikawa was consistent in 2024. He had six top 10 finishes including a fifth at the Sentry.
Collin Morikawa is $13.00 to win the 2024 Tour Championship. View Bet365 Odds
