Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Sandown 10/6
June 14, 2023
Our form analyst has looked over the replays & sectional times from Sandown on Saturday and has placed his list of horses you must follow below.
LISTENTOZOU/MISLEAD
Both finished off strongly in the opening race and are looking for further than 1000m. Listentozou was held up for a run before the turn and then had difficulty getting a run with 400m to go. Mislead finished the last 200 metres in 11.98 seconds which was slightly bettered by the winner Links who got home in 11.96 seconds.

She didn’t get into the clear until 250 metres to go and then stretched out strongly although a little wayward as she hung in to finish second behind the smart Extratwo. She was also slow to begin. She’ll only improve with racing and 1400 metres will prove to be right up her alley. She recorded the sixth fastest last 200m for the day of 11.80 seconds.
CURRAN
He’s a regular in these columns as he always has a flashing light on him but again he’s put in another good run. He recorded the fastest last 400m (22.17 seconds) and 200m (11.42 seconds) when he finished fourth to Starry Legend. The bottom line was that the lighter weighted horses who finished in front of him out sped in the 400m to the 200m sectional and then he took ground off them. He’s on track for another 1200 metres win.
BIGOLINO
Brave effort to hang on and finish fourth behind Flash Flood where he attempted to lead throughout and had the pressure on the whole race. He was left well clear with 400m to go and looked vulnerable but he was still in front with 70 metres to go. That was only his third run back from a spell and he should be ready to win his next start.
PACIFIC RUBY
She’s a mare going places. She made it five from five since joining the Maher/Eustace stable when she shrugged off the challenge of Our Bonneval in the closing stages. After the line she stretched out strongly indicating she’ll go further than 1300 metres.
