Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 27/4
May 1, 2024
Our analyst has reviewed the sectional times, ratings & replays from last Saturday’s Rosehill meeting & has placed five horses you must follow in our black book below.
POINT AND SHOOT
Not much right in the early stages as Racing NSW stewards noted that a short distance after the start he had to be eased from the heels of Highly Tempted after being taken in by Seascape. He also had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight and then from the 300m until approaching the 200m was unable to be fully tested when being shifted to the outside of runners to secure clear running. When he finally got clear he finished off well to finish third to Ikasara.
UNUSUAL LEGACY
Best work was late to finish fourth to Highlights but she had a checkered passage in the straight. Her jockey Amy McLucas was questioned by the stewards about her tactics in the straight and she told them she was instructed if possible, to attempt to make her run away from the running rail as connections believed this may have been advantageous.
She added that soon after straightening she attempted to shift to the outside of Nana’s Wish, however, was unable to do so and, as a result, became awkwardly placed inside that runner’s heels after the 400m. She added that she then shifted back in where she was able to place Unusual Legacy under pressure. She said that whilst a run had developed between Rhythm Of Love and Desiah after the 200m, Unusual Legacy was not quickening into this position and rather than run the risk of that run tightening, she elected to shift her mount back to the inside of Highlights after the 100m, whereby Unusual Legacy closed off its race well.

IKNOWASTAR
Brave effort again when second to Waterford. He’s led at his two runs back from a spell and has been run down by smart horses each time. The Bjorn Baker trained galloper deserves a win and it’s coming.
PREMISE
Just touched off by Let’srollthedice after having a bumping duel with that galloper over the concluding stages. The Victorian horse is a smart galloper on his day. She’s building to another win.
