Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Flemington 3/6
June 6, 2023

Our form analyst has looked over the replays & sectional times from Flemington on Saturday and has placed his list of horses you must follow below.
CUBAN LINK/RUMBLED AGAIN
These mares finished tenth and eighth respectively behind Party For One but neither had a lot of luck. Both were slow to begin and settled a long way off the lead. Then in the straight they found trouble and both had a lot more to give. They should have finished on the heels of the placegetters. Both are looking for longer than 1400 metres.

Very good effort at his debut down the straight. He was left in front for a long time. He was swamped 200 metres out but kept on fighting. He defeated the horses who he shared the lead with early and he was strong after the line. Don’t sack him.
HELLFIRE
Settled back after being slowly away and travelled well in the run but ended up back in the slower ground on the fence on turning for home. Despite being in the slower ground he was the best closer in the race to finish sixth.
WAHINE TOA
Great first-up run from this good staying mare who showed she’s going to keep up the form she displayed over summer. She just failed to grab Shaiyhar who is considered to be Caulfield Cup material by his trainers. Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace will add to their ever growing winner’s tally with her in the weeks to come.
CHARTERHOUSE
Maher and Eustace look like they’ve got another import with a stack of potential. The former Irish galloper finished on strongly at his Australian debut to finish third behind two above average gallopers in King Magnus and Jimmy The Bear. His last 200m split of 12.17 seconds was easily the fastest in the race.
