Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Caulfield 27/4
May 1, 2024

Our analyst has reviewed the sectional times, ratings & replays from last Saturday’s Caulfield meeting & has placed five horses you must follow in our black book below.
TIFFANY VALENTINE
She produced the third fastest last 400m for the day with a 22.57 sectional which was made even more impressive as Racing Victoria stewards reported she was held up from the 300m to the 150m mark where she had to shift over heels. She then finished on strongly for third to Awapunui Princess.
SMOKIN’ PRINCESS
Racing Victoria stewards noted she made contact with the running rail at the 1000 metres mark. Regardless she was already in a spot where it was going to be hard to win. She was third last on straightening and stretched out like a mare crying out for 2000m or longer to finish fifth.
MODOWN
Looked a winning chance halfway up the straight but died on his run on a day where it was difficult to loop the field from well back. He’s now had three runs back from a spell and should be ready to win his next start.
JIMMY THE BEAR
Super consistent galloper who is in for another solid preparation based on his first-up fourth behind Edison where he gave away a big start and finished on strongly.
