Trae Young is now a Washington Wizard, and on Monday night, Young seemed to generate excitement and praise among the Wizards fanbase. Remarkably, he received the support without even playing a single minute on the basketball court.
Young was on the bench and not playing against the Houston Rockets. However, that did not stop him from being ejected. Young took objection to Tari Eason of the Rockets for pushing Jamir Watkins of the Wizards.
In a period of disgust, Young left the bench to voice his displeasure of Eason’s actions on the court. Due to the fact he left the court, Young was ejected.
At the time of the ejection, the Rockets had a 90-73 lead. Over the last 14 minutes and 52 seconds of the game, Washington outscored Houston 45-33, but still lost 123-118.
Young was traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Wizards on January 9 for Corey Kispert and CJ McCollum. He has not played with the Wizards to date because of a knee injury. As a result, he has not played a game in the NBA since December 27.
The Wizards could use Young in their lineup as they have lost five straight contests. However, the Wizards are not a playoff contender this season. They are currently at 16 wins and 44 losses for a poor winning percentage of .267.
Now the question regarding Young is when we might see him make his debut with the Wizards. There are rumours it could be on Thursday. Two days from now the Wizards are playing the equally poor Utah Jazz.
