Dolphins hold-off Bunnies at Redcliffe
The Dolphins are back in the winners circle after finishing atop the Rabbitohs 36-28 on Thursday night at Kayo Stadium.
A back-and-forth opening forty saw the Dolphins take a 18-10 lead into the sheds courtesy of tries to Jack Bostock, Tevita Pangai Jr., and Herbie Farnworth.
Despite Jacob Gagai snagging a hat-trick and Alex Johnston a double, the Dolphins stormed home via four-pointers to Kodi Nikorima, Sean O’Sullivan, and Trai Fuller.
Fuller finished with a try, a try assist, and 270 run metres whilst Jack Bostock added a try, a try assist, and 277 run metres.
Gagai scored three and ran for 75 metres whilst Keaon Koloamatangi ran for 185 metres and made 40 tackles.
Sharks trounce Wests Tigers in return to form
The Sharks snapped their three-game losing streak with a 58-6 win over the struggling Wests Tigers at PointsBet Stadium on Friday night.
An Apisai Koroisau sin bin saw the hosts jump out to a 24-6 lead courtesy of a first half double to Sione Katoa as well as tries to Kayal Iro and Ronaldo Mulitalo.
Mulitalo snagged a hat-trick as the floodgates opened with Braden Hamlin-Uele, Briton Nikora, Jesse Ramien and Braydon Trindall all joining him on the scoresheet.
Trindall scored a try, assisted on three others, and ran for 116 metres whilst Mulitalo scored three and ran for 199 metres with seven tackle breaks.
Titans down Eels for 3rd win in a row
The Eels’ difficult run continued with the Titans handing them a 24-16 loss on the Gold Coast on Saturday evening.
A quick Alofiana Khan-Pereira double plus a Phillip Sami try put the hosts up 18-0 early with Luca Moretti crossing a half-hour in to open the Eels’ account.
Brian Kelly crossed to grow the Titans’ lead on the other side of the half with late tries to Will Penisini and Clint Gutherson proving not enough for the visitors.
Jayden Campbell assisted on a trio of tries and kicked for 246 metres whilst Sami scored a try and ran for 247 metres.
Gutherson scored a try and ran for 265 metres whilst Reagan Campbell-Gillard ran for 206 metres and made 31 tackles.
Late surge not enough as Dragons hand Broncos 6th-straight loss
The Dragons came away with a key 30-26 over a fast-finishing Broncos outfit on Saturday night at Suncorp Stadium behind a Christian Tuipulotu hat-trick.
The Dragons stormed to a 22-6 half-time lead behind a first half Tuipulotu double as well as tries to Moses Suli – which came with Kotoni Staggs in the bin – and Jaydn Su’A.
Tuipulotu grabbed a third early in the second forty before the Broncos set out on a comeback effort buoyed by tries to Ezra Mam, Blake Mozer, and two to Staggs.
Tuipulotu scored three and ran for 174 metres with 10 tackle breaks whilst Su’A scored a try and ran for 162 metres with nine tackle breaks.
Staggs scored two and ran for 189 metres with nine tackle breaks whilst Corey Jensen ran for 156 metres and made 51 tackles.
Manly tear through Knights in front of packed Brookvale
Manly will remain in the Top 8 having smacked the Knights 44-6 at 4 Pines Park on Sunday.
The good times started early for the Sea Eagles with debutant Jamie Humphreys drawing first blood just five minutes in before tries to Tom Trbojevic, Jason Saab, and Tommy Talau saw them take a 20-0 lead into the half.
Reuben Garrick scored on the other side of half-time before Lehi Hopoate grabbed a double along with a Haumole Olakau’atu try.
Hopoate scored two and ran for 269 metres with seven tackle breaks and Trbojevic scored one, assisted on three others, and ran for 185 metres.
