Nikola Vucevic records third career NBA buzzer beater

Nikola Vucevic of Morges, Switzerland recorded his third career NBA buzzer beater on Wednesday. He accomplished the feat in a 122-121 Chicago Bulls win over the Portland Trail Blazers. It was the second straight noteworthy win of the season for Chicago. On Monday, they snapped a five-game losing streak by beating the Denver Nuggets 130-127 as a 12.5 point underdog.
Vucevic’s dramatic three-point buzzer beater on Wednesday, was from 26 feet. Prior to making the shot, the Bulls were trailing 121-119. Guard Coby White of Goldsboro, North Carolina had the assist.
The first buzzer beater for Vucevic came on November 11, 2015 in a 101-99 Orlando Magic win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Vucevic made a 19 point field goal to break a 99-99 tie. Forward Tobias Harris of Islip, New York had the assist. Â The second buzzer beater for Vucevic came on February 7, 2016 in a 96-94 Magic win over the Atlanta Hawks from 17 feet. Vucevic broke a 94-94 tie. Point guard Elfrid Payton Jr. of Gretna, Louisiana (son of Canadian Football League Hall of Fame defensive end Elfrid Payton Sr.) had the assist.
Vucevic led the Bulls with 27 points. Four more Bulls players reached double digits in points. Guard Coby White of Goldsboro, North Carolina had 25 points, and Chicago’s own Ayo Dosuynmu had 14 points (both coming off the bench). Meanwhile, shooting guard Isaac Okoro of Atlanta, Georgia had 13 points, and forward Matas Buzelis of Chicago had 11 points. Josh Giddey of Melbourne, Australia, the Bulls star point guard, led Chicago with 13 assists.
With the win, the Bulls are at eight wins and six losses. They are third in the Central Division and seventh in the Eastern Conference.
