November 14, 2025
The Denver Nuggets are red hot at the moment as they are winners of six straight games. On Wednesday night in southern California, we saw just how much of an impact Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has on the basketball court.
In a 130-116 Nuggets win over the Los Angeles Clippers, Jokic had 55 points. That is the most number of points a player has had in a National Basketball Association game this season, and the most number of points Jokic has had in his career in a Nuggets win.
The two games where Jokic has had more points than he did on Wednesday, the Nuggets lost. He had 61 points in a 140-139 double overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on April 1, 2025, and 56 points in a 122-113 Nuggets loss to the Washington Wizards on December 7, 2024.
Wednesday night was also the first time in Jokic’s career he scored 50 points in a Nuggets win. Jokic also scored 53 points in a 129-124 Nuggets loss to the Phoenix Suns in game four of the 2023 Western Conference semifinals. That is the most points scored by one player on a losing team in a single postseason game that did not go into overtime in NBA history. Jokic also had 50 points in a 119-114 Nuggets loss to the Sacramento Kings on February 6, 2021.
In Wednesday’s game, Jokic made 18 of 23 field goals, five of six three point shots, and 14 of 16 free throws. He added the double-double as he had 12 rebounds. Jokic also had six assists, one steal and one block, and was a +28.
For the season, Jokic is averaging a triple double. He is averaging 28.8 points per game, and leads the NBA in assists per game (10.9), and rebounds per game (13.1). Jokic also has 1.8 steals per game, a field goal percentage of .684, three point percentage of .417 and free throw percentage of .859.
The Nuggets are at nine wins and two losses. They have the second best record in the Western Conference. The only team better are the Oklahoma City Thunder at 12 wins and one loss.
