Chicago Bears: Predicted Finish, Key Signings & Fantasy Stars
July 13, 2022
In the sixth of a 32-part series, we will feature all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Today we will look at the Chicago Bears.
Key Off-Season Acquisitions
The 2022 offseason was not so much who the Chicago Bears gained, but who they lost. The Bears lost linebacker Khalil Mack in a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers for two draft picks, and then elite wide receiver Allen Robinson, who signed a three-year deal worth $46.5 million with the Los Angeles Rams.
To offset the loss of Robinson, the Bears acquired Byron Pringle to a one-year contract worth $4.1 million. Last season with the Kansas City Chiefs, Pringle, who is sponsored by Pringles Potato Chips, had 42 catches for 568 yards, and five touchdowns. However, one must remember, last year he had Patrick Mahomes as his quarterback. This year it will be Justin Fields. Yikes!!!
Also in the offseason, the Bears acquired center Lucas Patrick from the Green Bay Packers, fullback Khari Blasingame from the Tennessee Titans, defensive tackle Justin Jones from the Los Angeles Chargers, and linebacker Matthew Adams from the Indianapolis Colts. Jones, who had 37 combined tackles, five tackles for a loss, three sacks, and two fumble recoveries last year will be used to fill the void lost by the absence of Mack.

Fantasy Star
At this time, no Chicago Bear is ranked in the top 10 at quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, running back, defense or kicker.
Prediction
In the NFC North, there are two elite teams and two teams that will battle for third in the division. Minnesota and Green Bay are the two elite squads, while Chicago and Detroit are the two clubs that will battle for third. Due to the fact Detroit’s defense is awful, the Bears should return to a third place finish in the division.
