NFL Weekly Preview Week 14 2023: Key Injuries, Difference Makers & Projected Upsets
December 8, 2023

The 14th week is upon us in the National Football League. For many, it is the final week of the 2023 Fantasy Football regular season. Here are the key injuries, difference makers and projected upsets.
Key Injuries
Among the players out this week (and beyond) are Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Tank Dell (broken leg), Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk (core muscle surgery), Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett (ankle), New England Patriots running back Rhanomdre Stevenson (high ankle sprain), and Detroit Lions defensive tackle Alim McNeill (knee sprain). It is expected Mitch Trubisky of Mentor, Ohio will be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the time being, and Ezekiel Elliott of St. Louis, Missouri will be the starting running back for the Patriots.
Fantasy Stars
The top rated quarterback this week is Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. The native of Firebaugh, California is projected to get 254 passing yards, 28 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The top rated wide receiver is Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins. The native of Pearson, Georgia is projected to get seven catches for 97 yards and a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans.
The top rated running back is Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers. The native of Castle Rock, Colorado is projected to get 17 rushes for 89 yards, and four catches for 33 yards and a touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks.
Projected Upset
The one upset I like this week will actually be on Thursday night. Yes, I am picking the New England Patriots to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers may have a winning record of seven wins and five losses, but are a -37 in points for and against. With the loss of Pickett, expect Trubisky to struggle against a Patriots team that has given up only 26 points in their last three games.
