Nets waive Bojan Bogdanovic after season ending foot injury
February 21, 2025

The Brooklyn Nets have made the decision to waive forward Bojan Bogdanovic after coming to the determination that Bogdanovic’s foot injury will require season-ending surgery according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post. Bogdanovic suffered injuries to his foot and wrist while with the New York Knicks during game four of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, a 97-92 Knicks win over the Philadelphia 76ers. He has not played since. The game was best known for Jalen Brunson setting the Knicks record for most points in a playoff game (47).
Bogdanovic of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina was then traded to the Nets from the Knicks in the offseason during a high profile transaction. On July 6, Bogdanovic was moved to Brooklyn with seven draft picks from New York for small forward Mikal Bridges of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In 57 games last season with the Pistons and Knicks, Bogdanovic averaged 15.2 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game. He also had a field goal percentage of .454, three point percentage of .398, and a free throw percentage of .785.
This was to be Bogdanovic’s second time with the Nets. He initially played three seasons in Brooklyn from 2014 to 2017. During 212 games, Bogdanovic averaged 11.2 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, 1.2 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of .441, three point percentage of .366 and a free throw percentage of .785.
The Nets won their last three games before the All-Star Break. They beat Miami 102-86 on February 7, Charlotte 97-89 on February 10, and Philadelphia 100-96 on February 12. Brooklyn is in contention for a spot in the play-in tournament. With a record of 20 wins and 34 losses, they are a game and a half back of the Chicago Bulls for a play-in spot.
