Nets trade Mikal Bridges to Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic and seven draft picks

There was a significant trade in the National Basketball Association on Tuesday. According to ESPN, the Brooklyn Nets have traded small forward Mikal Bridges of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the New York Knicks for small forward Bojan Bogdanovic of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and seven NBA draft picks. The Nets receive the Knicks’s two first round picks in 2025, a second round pick in 2025, and first round picks in 2027, 2029, and 2031. There will also be a first round swap in 2028, and the Knicks will receive the Nets’s second round pick in 2026.
Bridges played five seasons with the Phoenix Suns from 2018 to 2023, and two seasons with the Brooklyn Nets from 2023 to 2024. Bridges went to Brooklyn in the deal that saw Kevin Durant get traded to Phoenix on February 9, 2023. In 2023-24, Bridges averaged 19.6 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, one steal per game, with a field goal percentage of .436, three point percentage of .372, and a free throw percentage of .814.
Bogdanovic is returning to the Nets. He played there from 2014 to 2017. Bogdanovic also played for the Washington Wizards (2017), the Indiana Pacers (2017 to 2019), the Utah Jazz (2019 to 2022), the Detroit Pistons (2022 to 2024), and the New York Knicks (2024).
In 57 games this season with the Pistons and Knicks, Bogdanovic averaged 15.2 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game. He also had a field goal percentage of .454, three point percentage of .398, and a free throw percentage of .785.
While with the Jazz, Bogdanovic set the Utah franchise record for most three-pointers in a game. He had 11 in a 116-103 Jazz win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 6, 2022.
