He was averaging 18.7 points per game this season in Portland. This is the second straight season that Powell was traded. Last year he was traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Trail Blazers. Powell was an integral part of the Raptors team that won the NBA Finals in 2019.
The Clippers will be the fifth NBA team for Covington. In addition to the Trail Blazers, he has played for the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
This will also be the fifth NBA team for Bledsoe. In addition to the Clippers, he has played for the Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans.
The fact that the Trail Blazers acquired a draft pick from 2025 is intriguing. You rarely see teams go after a draft pick three years down the road.
