Jazz trade Joe Ingles to Trail Blazers
February 10, 2022

According to the Associated Press, there was a three-way trade in the National Basketball Association on Wednesday involving the Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs involving five players from five different countries. The Trail Blazers acquired small forward Joe Ingles of Happy Valley, Australia, small forward Elijah Hughes of Poughkeepsie, NY, and a second round draft picks from the Jazz. The Jazz acquired Nickeil Alexander-Walker of Toronto, Ontario, Canada from the Trail Blazers and power forward Juancho Hernangomez of Madrid, Spain from the Spurs. The Spurs also received Tomas Satoransky of Prague, Czech Republic and a 2027 draft pick from Utah.
Ingles is out for the remainder of the NBA season after tearing his ACL in a game with the Jazz against the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 30. He became expendable due to the fact he was a free agent at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see if Ingles will ever play with Portland.
This was the second straight day that Alexander-Walker and Satoransky have been traded. They were involved in the CJ McCollum blockbuster deal from Tuesday.
Of all the players involved in the deal, you could make the argument that Alexander-Walker has had the most productive season. That is because he is averaging 12.8 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, 2.8 assists per game, and has a field goal percentage of .375, a three-point percentage of .311, and a free throw percentage of .722.
Satoransky has previously played with the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls. Hernangomez has previously been with the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics.
