Cavs vs Knicks 11:10am AEST
Have been thoroughly enjoying Garland ball over the last month and his role is as good as anyone in the league right now but there’s a few changing factors today. He loses his main roll man Allen who’s just cash for dimes with Garland averaging 9.3 per 36 while he’s on the court vs just 6.3 per 36 without him. The quality of the potentials today will be a lot harder, likely relying on his jump shooters. All season Bickerstaff has been saying he wants to give Garland more off ball reps but the teams lack of guard depth has made that near impossible to do. Rondo who is obviously very ball dominant comes back today which takes away a ton of upside from Garland, both in minutes and his role. Averaged 7 dimes in the 3 games Rondo played. Knicks defence has been far better lately and they are giving up the 4th fewest assists in the month of Jan. Could be a very brutal game with two good defences and two very slow paced offences.
