Marshall-King quickly re-pledges to Dolphins over testing open NRL waters
June 9, 2024
Dolphins rake Jeremy Marshall-King has opted to re-sign with the Redcliffe club for three more years instead of waiting until November to field potential offers from NRL rivals.
The 28-year-old has agreed to a three-year deal, The Sporting Base understands, that will keep him at the NRL’s newest club through to at least 2027.

Early reports surrounding Marshall-King’s future suggested South Sydney and St George Illawarra were very interested in registering official bids come November. However, with everything locked away now on the Dolphins’ side of things, the two Sydney clubs will have to look elsewhere for their next recruitment targets.
Talks had stalled for a while between the Dolphins and the two-time New Zealand hooker and soon-to-be Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett figured he could take JMK with him when he moved back south to Sydney.
Those options didn’t interest Marshall-King in the slightest, The Sporting Base heard.
The biggest counterweight in his thinking surrounds the Dolphins giving him a chance when he had been overlooked by several other clubs earlier in his career. Redcliffe’s roster builders took a chance on him and he’s repaid them by quietly becoming a key figure in the club and one of the best hookers in the league.
