Manchester United Vs Liverpool Preview & Analysis
October 18, 2019
Two rivals meet when English powerhouses, Manchester United meet Liverpool Football Club. United are having one of the worst starts to their season in recent years, currently standing 12th in the league, 2 points away from relegation, whereas current European champions Liverpool are sitting top of the league with 8 wins from 8 games.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking to get a result seeming he and his team are under a lot of pressure for recent results. With only 2 wins after 8 games, the United boss has been under fire with many thinking that he has to be replaced with someone more experienced and a wider variety of tactics.
With both central-midfielder Paul Pogba and goal-keeper David De Gea, both of which are key for the play style of United and whose lack of presence will both be felt. Brazilian midfielder, Fred and Argentine goal-keeper, Romero will be the most likely to replace these two players.
United have the edge on Liverpool when it comes to previous meetings between the two clubs. United have won 16, drawn 6 and lost 5 in the Premier League era.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp and his team have been playing very well and have a winning run of 17 games. This is due to the attacking play-style played by the whole team whilst playing quickly on the break. This has been the cause for many of their goals for this season.
United’s playing style this season can be described as dull and tedious with a lot of sitting back and very little attacking. Due to their lack of chemistry between the team and lack of flare in the attacking third, the games have been very boring to watch.
Although United have a very strong defence, the attack of Liverpool and the lack of it from the opposition will cause Liverpool to get the victory.
Team News
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea (groin) and midfielder Paul Pogba (ankle) are set to miss the Old Trafford contest through injury.
Jesse Lingard (hamstring) is also a doubt but Aaron Wan-Bissaka (illness) and Anthony Martial (thigh) could return.
