Luka Doncic has a game-winning three-pointer for the ages

What the basketball world saw on Wednesday was sensational, and one of the most remarkable game-winning three-point shots of all-time. Down 113-111, Luka Doncic got his shot off at the buzzer in an extremely awkward position, and gave Dallas a one-point win of 114-113, over the Memphis Grizzlies.

With 1.8 seconds left in the game, Doncic received a pass from his fellow European teammate Maxi Kleber. (Doncic is from Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Kleber is from Wurzburg, Germany). Doncic caught the pass and stumbled forward. However, before Doncic’s foot crossed over the three-point line, somehow, someway, he got the shot off for a marvelous three-pointer, and one for the ages.

Doncic finished the game with 29 points. The game-winning shot was also his third three-pointer in the contest.

How the Grizzlies even allowed Doncic to attempt a game-winning three-point shot was remarkable, as they themselves were very sloppy in the final two minutes. With two minutes and seven seconds left, Kyle Anderson of the Grizzlies put Memphis up 111-106 with a three-point shot. After subsequent missed shots by Doncic and Ja Morant,  Doncic and Kristaps Prozingis pulled the Mavericks to within one after successful field goal attempts. Then after Morant made two free throws, and Doncic made one, the Grizzlies once again had a 113-111 lead with 3.2 seconds left and the ball. Grayson Allen then was fouled, and inexplicably missed both free throws and gave Dallas a chance.

With the win, the Mavericks improve to 30 wins and 24 losses. That is good enough for the seventh-best record in the Western Conference. There is no doubt that Luka Doncic continues to amaze.
