The weights favour him and he’s in good form but his wins are well spaced these days. He will also have barrier one and he’s going to have to contend with speedy horses all around him.

MOONEE VALLEY RACE 9 – ZAAKI

• Barrier: 1
• Price: $6.50 @ Betfair

He’s always a threat in this type of race but this represents his greatest challenge. He should be able to lead but Alligator Blood will prove to be a nuisance to him. He also has barrier one and expect they will be getting off the fence.

MOONEE VALLEY RACE 10 – ROOTS

She’s won both of her starts in great style this time in. She has failed on a heavy track before and she has also drawn in which may not be the place to be at the end of two days of racing.

RANDWICK RACE 7 – GOLDEN MILE

• Jockey: H Bowman
• Barrier: 10
• Price: $1.75 @ Betfair

Everything went to script in the Caulfield Guineas where he won narrowly after getting a perfect J. Mac ride. That was his Grand Final and he will also be back to a wet track. He’s a star but he’s very short in the betting.

She’s a quality mare who doesn’t know how to run a bad race. Only knock on her is that she hasn’t won in 12 starts since scoring in this race last year.
