Tom Hoge of Statesville, North Carolina has won the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This was the very first PGA title for the 32-year-old, who has played on the PGA Tour since 2015.
Hoge posted a four-round score of -19. He beat three-time major champion Jordan Spieth of Dallas, Texas by two strokes. Spieth has won the 2015 Masters, 2015 United States Open, and 2017 British Open. The other golfer in contention was Beau Hossler of Mission Viejo, California, who was in third place at -16.
During the competition at Pebble Beach, Hoge was competing on three different golf courses. He was on the Pebble Beach Golf Links for rounds one and four, the Monterey Peninsula Country Club for round two, and the Spyglass Hill Golf Course for round three. The Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course had a par of 72, while the Monterey Peninsula Country Club had a par of 71.
Hoge had a score of nine-under-par 63 in round one, two-under-par 69 in round two, and then back-to-back rounds of four-under-par 68 in rounds three and four. He won the tournament despite registering a double-bogey on the par-five fifth hole in the final round.
Remember, at the AT&T Pebble Beach, there is a celebrity component to the event. Hoge was teamed up with Inspirato Chief Executive Officer Brent Handler of Denver, Colorado. Hoge and Handler had a combined score of -28. The team title winners were Taylor Moore of San Angelo, Texas and RKA Investments President Kyle Adams of Longview, Texas, who had a score of -33. There was no celebrity component to the tournament in 2021 because of the pandemic.
