Stephen Curry becomes oldest player to record 50 points and 10 assists in a game

The greatness of Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors continues. On Monday, Curry added to his star-studded resume, by becoming the oldest player ever with 50 points and 10 assists in a single National Basketball Association game according to Matias Grez of CNN. He achieved the feat at age 33 years and 239 days old in a 127-113 Warriors win over the Atlanta Hawks. Curry passes Wilt Chamberlain of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who was 31 years and 210 days old when he had 53 points, 32 rebounds and 14 assists in an unbelievable triple-double on March 18, 1968 in a 158-128 Philadelphia 76ers win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Curry is the first player to score 50 points in a game during the 2021-22 NBA season. He also had seven rebounds, three steals and one block. From the charity stripe, Curry was perfect as he made all 13 of his attempts. Meanwhile, from beyond the arc, Curry made nine three-pointers in 19 attempts. He also made five of nine field goal attempts from inside the three-point line.

Curry is averaging 27.6 points per game, and currently leads the NBA this season with a .980 free throw percentage. He has made 50 of his 51 attempts. He also leads the NBA with 52 three-points made. The nine three-pointers Curry made against the Hawks are the most he has made in a single game in 2021-22.
Earlier this season, Curry became the 69th player to have 5000 assists in a career. He now has 5050 assists, which is now 66th all-time.
The Warriors meanwhile have got off to a great start to the season after not reaching the final 16 the last two NBA seasons. They have a record of nine wins and one loss, and their only loss was a 104-101 defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies on October 28.
