Domantas Sabonis records memorable triple-double for the Pacers

Lithuanian-American Domantas Sabonis of Portland, Oregon, has been recognized throughout the entire National Basketball Association, as one of the game’s most underrated superstars in the entire league. On Wednesday, Sabonis continued to put up exceptional numbers for the Indiana Pacers as he had a memorable triple-double.
According to ESPN, Sabonis became the first Pacers player in franchise history to record a minimum of 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists in a single game. Sabonis finished with 36 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Pacers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 134-128 in overtime. The 36 points Sabonis scored on Wednesday were also a career-high.
Sabonis made 13 of 21 field goals, and nine of 11 free throws. He also made one three-pointer, three steals, and one blocked shot. On the season, Sabonis is averaging a double-double (21.5 points per game, 11.6 rebounds per game, 5.7 assists per game), 5.7 assists per game, a field goal percentage of .528, a free throw percentage of .710, three-point percentage of .358.
This was Sabonis’s third triple-double this season. He also had 22 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, in a 125-106 Pacers win over the Chicago Bulls on Boxing Day, and 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in a 116-106 Pacers win over the Charlotte Hornets on January 27.
With the win, the Pacers moved above the .500 mark in the tightly contested Eastern Conference. At 15 wins and 14 losses, they moved past the Boston Celtics into fourth place. The Celtics were beaten by the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, who had a marvelous game from star point guard Trae Young, who scored 40 points. The Philadelphia 76ers continue to lead the Eastern Conference at 19 wins and 10 losses.
