Knicks take down 76ers, end 4-game slide
February 23, 2024
The New York Knicks came away with a 110-96 win over the Philadelphia 76ers to end a four-game losing streak in their first outing back since the All-Star break.
Deadline acquisition Bojan Bogdanović (22 pts, 6/6 3PM) was sensational for the Knicks whilst Precious Achiuwa (18 pts, 11 reb, 7/9 FG) and Josh Hart (18 pts, 12 reb) also offered valuable production.
Despite a poor shooting night, first-time All-Star Jalen Brunson (21 pts, 12 ast, 5/18 FG, 7 tov) led the Knicks with a +20 and put together his fourth double-digit assist game of the season.
It was close to a wire-to-wire victory for the Knicks who used a solid opening quarter to rocket towards a 26-point lead just shy of halftime.
They won the rebounding battle whilst also forcing 18 Philadelphia turnovers and holding them to just 44% shooting.
Tyrese Maxey (35 pts, 6 reb, 5 ast) led the way for the 76ers whilst buyout acquisition Kyle Lowry (11 pts, 5 ast, 5/7 FG) was steady off the bench in his 76ers debut.
The 76ers have gone 3-6 since MVP candidate Joel Embiid went down with a knee issue and are now just a game-and-a-half out of the play-in.
They find themselves back in action against the Cavaliers in the second night of a back-to-back tomorrow whilst the Knicks take on the No.1 seed Celtics on Sunday.
