The Wests Tigers finally get their 2026 campaign underway on Saturday afternoon when they welcome the North Queensland Cowboys to Leichhardt Oval.
After an unbeaten preseason, Benji Marshall’s side had the unusual experience of sitting back during Round 1 while the rest of the competition got rolling. The Cowboys, meanwhile, return from their Las Vegas trip licking their wounds after a loss to Newcastle and the injury to Tom Mikaele. The Tigers will blood a couple of exciting young backs while also unveiling former Knight Kai Pearce-Paul in the pack, and Jock Madden faces his old club from the bench. North Queensland have had the wood over the Tigers in recent seasons though, winning their last five meetings — including the past two at this venue.
