The New York Knicks are one win away from reaching the 2026 NBA Finals. On Saturday, the Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 121-108 at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio to take a three games to none lead in the best out of seven Eastern Conference Final series. The game three win came after a 115-104 game one overtime win, and a game two 109-93 victory.Â
In Saturday’s 13-point Knicks victory, guard Jalen Brunson of New Brunswick, New Jersey continued to be the heart and soul of the Knicks organization. He led the team with 30 points as he made 10 of 19 field goal attempts, and 10 of 12 free throws.
All five Knicks starters reached double digits in points. Small forward Mikal Bridges of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania had 22 points, forward OG Anunoby of London, England had 21 points, center Karl-Anthony Towns of Edison, New Jersey had 13 points, and small forward Josh Hart of Silver Spring, Maryland had 12 points. Meanwhile, shooting guard Landry Shamet of Kansas City, Missouri had 14 points off the bench.
The first quarter happened to be the Knicks’s best quarter. After 12 minutes, they had a 37-27 lead.
We also saw continued poor defense from the two Cavaliers players that Cleveland relies on the most. Donovan Mitchell was a -22 and Evan Mobley was a -21. In the series, Mitchell is a -43, and Mobley is a -32.
The Knicks are on quite the playoff run. They have now won 10 consecutive postseason games, as they won three straight games in the first round versus Atlanta, four straight games in the second round versus Philadelphia, and three straight games in the third round versus Cleveland.
