Kalgoorlie Tip Sheet, Staking Plan and Horses To Follow – Hannan’s Handicap Day Thursday 1st October

Always love Hannan’s Handicap day to open the Kalgoorlie racing round and we get a beautiful day to begin proceedings, with the weather fine, the track a good 4 and the rail in the true position, anticipating we will also get a beauty of a track that will play far better than Belmont has in recent weeks!

4. Get Over It – 6. Hayan Lad – 5. Gessato – 1. Badge Of Courage

Get Over It

Really keen on the chances of this 7 year old from the Durrant yard here. Last 2 starts over the 1000m short course has produced 2 very admirable performances in much better fields than this, ran on very well from well back 2 starts ago when running 4th behind form galloper Flower Of Scotland by 1.8L, before last start really charging home and getting through his gears late behind Pink N Gray when desperate for a bit more ground, 50 more metres and the race was his. The form out of this race has held up, with Pink N Gray running 3rd in Saturday metro grade since. Will get back from the draw but with an abundance of speed drawn here, should be able to be launching at them late down the middle of the track at a trip his last 2 starts say that he has been crying out for. Only concern is how long its been since he’s won, but he’s going as good now as he has been since then off the back of his last 2 performances.

2.5 Units WIN

Race 5 – 3:32PM MCDONALDS HANDICAP (1100m)

1. Ziebell – 7. Herron Sand – 9. Devine Beast – 6. Protected Action

Ziebell:

Just feel like this is a case of too fast, too good for these. Has put some good runs on the board, with a 1st up 2nd last prep off no trial behind False Statement when jumping from very wide and carrying less weight than he gets here, and even has a 0.1L 2nd behind Hannan’s even money favourite Massimo on his resume. Has got super gate speed, anticipating they will be super aggressive here with the claimer to get him across to the rail, which he is well and truly capable of doing and if he can get it relatively cheaply, I’m finding it hard to see how any of these can gun him down. Good 1st up record and the Fernie’s will definitely have him fit and ready to go for this, really hard to beat, big weight not an issue as he is a proven weight carrier.

3 Units WIN

Race 6 – 4:15PM JOHNNIE WALKER HANDICAP (1400m)

3. Tramika – 6. Leading Man – 7. Blackwood River – 5. Kentucky Love

Race 7 – 4:50PM TABTOUCH HANNANS HANDICAP (1400m)

1. Massimo – 2. Money Matters – 10. Sliced Bread – 4. Yeah Dardy

Massimo:

I tried as hard as I could to get him beat, but I just don’t think I can and Massimo just looks so well placed to increase his listed resume with a Hannan’s Handicap win. Been just a huge model of consistency this prep, only finishing outside the top 2 once in his last 10 runs, with his last start listed win in the Farnley over this distance pretty deafening when easily accounting for a handy field. Finds a lovely position in running here from 3 for CJP either out in front or just in behind the speed if Magniforce or Money Matters choose to roll, and should just be too strong for those on his way to what could potentially be a Railway campaign heading into the summer carnival. Really well weighted against these and think the short price on offer is a put in, take out job.

5 Units WIN

Race 8 – 5:25PM DFP RECRUITMENT HANDICAP (1300m)

5. Pure Magnus – 3. Bumper Humper – 10. Scooter’s Machine – 11. Great Charade
