The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Josh Reynolds of San Antonio, Texas to a one-year deal worth $5 million according to BVM Sports on Monday. This is one of two significant additions to the Jets offense in the 2025 National Football League offseason as the team also signed quarterback Josh Fields away from the Pittsburgh Steelers.Â
The Jets are the sixth National Football League franchise Reynolds has played for. He has previously played four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams from 2017 to 2020, one season with the Tennessee Titans in 2021, three seasons with the Detroit Lions from 2021 to 2023, and with the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024.
Reynolds had 13 catches for 194 receiving yards and one touchdown last season in Denver and Jacksonville. His touchdown catch was for nine yards in a 34-18 Broncos win over the Las Vegas Raiders on October 6. Reynolds was put on waivers by the Broncos on December 3, and claimed by the Jaguars on December 4.
Reynolds was a fixture in the Rams and Lions’s offense over the last eight seasons. It will be interesting to see if his statistics improve after a down year in 2024. At this time, it appears he could get his chances. Reynolds is expected to see regular time in a Jets offense looking for a spark. With Davante Adams now in Los Angeles with the Rams, the football could be targeted to Reynolds with regularity. It will also be interesting to see where Reynolds fits in on a receiving corps that also contains Allen Lazard of Des Moines, Iowa and Garrett Wilson of Chicago, Illinois.
