Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Sunday 14 February 2027 (US time), after the NFL and Apple Music confirmed the 25-time Grammy winner as the next halftime star.
The announcement was made during the Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles Monday Night Football game on ESPN, NFL.com reported. ESPN will also broadcast the Super Bowl in February. For Australian fans, the game falls on Monday 15 February.
It is a big moment for the rapper, whose company Roc Nation has produced the Super Bowl Halftime Show since partnering with the NFL in 2019.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
Goodell’s ‘one request’
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he had long hoped Jay-Z would perform himself, Variety reported.

“When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him,” Goodell said. “I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage.”
Roc Nation will executive produce the show and Hamish Hamilton will direct it, Variety reported.
Back at SoFi after anniversary shows
Jay-Z closed his JAY-Z30 concert series with two shows at SoFi Stadium on 23 and 24 October, celebrating 30 years of his debut album Reasonable Doubt and 25 years of The Blueprint. Guests on those nights included Blue Ivy Carter, John Legend, DJ Khaled, Too Short, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, NFL.com reported.

Super Bowl LXI will be the second Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium, after Super Bowl LVI, when Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg performed at halftime.
Speculation will now turn to who joins Jay-Z on stage. His wife, Beyoncé, headlined the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show and was a special guest at Super Bowl 50, but no guest performers have been announced.
Recent halftime headliners include Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny, who performed at this year’s Super Bowl.
