James, Durant headline Team USA Olympic roster

USA Basketball is in the process of finalising its 12-man roster for the Olympic Games being held in Paris later this year, per ESPN’S Adrian Wojnarowski.
11 of the 12 names have been listed with officials expected to leave one spot open to maintain flexibility with the competition kicking off on 24 July and running through until 11 August.
The American men have secured the last four Olympic gold medals.

The NBA’s all-time scoring leader LeBron James headlines the roster along with fellow NBA MVPs Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Joel Embiid.
It will mark James’ fourth Olympics with the 39-year-old having won gold in 2008 and 2012 whilst Durant too will be lining up for his fourth Olympics having secured gold medals at the past three.
Anthony Davis is back in the Olympic fold for the first time since winning gold as Team USA’s lone college star at London in 2012 whilst Cameroonian-born Embiid will don American colours for the first time having committed to the team last October.
A four-time NBA champion and two-time League MVP, Curry will play in his first Olympics alongside other first-timers Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, and Anthony Edwards.
Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday and Bam Adebayo were all a part of Team USA’s gold medal-winning squad at Tokyo in 2020.
