Ja Morant won’t play game four versus the Warriors
May 10, 2022

In what is a nightmare scenario for the Memphis Grizzlies, their star player, Ja Morant, the NBA’s Most Improved Player of 2021-22, will not play game four of the Western Conference Semifinal series against the Golden State Warriors because of a knee injury according to Ernie Johnson of TNT Sports. Morant suffered the injury in game three of the series on Saturday, a convincing 142-112 Warriors win.
What should be disconcerting for Grizzlies fans is that they got 34 points from Morant in 36 minutes on Saturday and still got their butt kicked. Yes, they did not have Dillon Brooks in the lineup because of a one-game suspension, but not having Morant in the lineup is a devastating blow to a Memphis squad trying to tie the series at two games apiece on Monday night.
In other NBA playoff action, the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Boston Celtics 103-101 to take a 2-1 series lead in one of two Eastern Conference Semifinal series. The Celtics were irate as a franchise that the NBA only awarded two free throws instead of three free throws when Jrue Holiday fouled Marcus Smart. Meanwhile, in the other Eastern Conference Semifinal Series on Sunday, James Harden had 31 points in a 116-108 win over the Miami Heat to tie the series at two. But the biggest story of the game was the fact that Joel Embiid notched a double-double (24 points and 11 rebounds) with a mask.
Finally, in the other Western Conference Semifinal Series, Luka Doncic had a double-double on Sunday in a 111-101 Dallas Mavericks  win over the Phoenix Suns to tie their series at two. Doncic had 26 points and 11 assists.
