I-na Yoon extends her lead at the 2026 Women’s PGA Championship

I-na Yoon of Jinju, South Korea has emerged as the class of the field at the 2026 Women’s PGA Championship at Hazeltine. After shooting a first round score of nine-under-par 63, Yoon had a second round score of three-under-par 69, and is currently at -12.

On Friday, Yoon had five birdies and two bogeys. She birdied the third, fourth, sixth, eighth, and 11th holes, and bogeyed the 10th and 17th holes.

There is a four-way tie for second place. At five strokes back at -7 are Canadian Brooke Henderson, South Korea’s A-lim Kim and Hae-ran Ryu, and Japan’s Nasa Hataoka.

This is the second straight week we have seen a blowout at a major in golf after 36 holes. Last week at Shinnecock, American Wyndham Clark was at -7 and led his nearest competitors by four strokes. After three rounds, Clark actually extended his lead to six strokes before beating Sam Burns by a single stroke on the final round on Sunday.

It will now be interesting to see if anyone will make a significant push over the next two days in Minnesota, or if Yoon will be able to maintain her lead rather comfortably. This is the second time that Yoon has reached -12 at a major in 2026. At the Chevron Championship in April, she posted the score after four rounds at the Memorial Golf Course in Houston, Texas, and finished in fourth place and six strokes back of the champion, world number one, Nelly Korda of the United States.
