Hae-ran Ryu and Mao Saigo lead at the 2025 Chevron Championship

The third round of the 2025 Chevron Championship in The Woodlands, Texas (north of Houston) is now complete and there is a two-way tie at the top. At -9 are Hae-ran Ryu of Seoul, South Korea and Mao Saigo of Funabashi, Japan.
Ryu was the round one co-leader at -7. She has since posted a second round score of +2, which dropped her down to -5, and a third round score of -4. On Friday, Ryu had three birdies, three bogeys and one double bogey. On Saturday, Ryu had five birdies and one bogey. She birdied the fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth holes, and bogeyed the third hole.
Saigo had an opening round score of two-under-par, second round score of four-under-par and a third-round score of three-under-par. She has had great success on the par-five eighth hole to date, as Saigo has had a birdie there on every hole.
There are eight golfers currently in the hunt. All alone in third place at -8 and one stroke back is American Lindy Duncan of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Then there are two golfers tied for fourth place at -7 and two strokes back. There you can find American Sarah Schmelzel of Phoenix, Arizona and Yan Liu of Beijing, China. Then there are five golfers tied for sixth place at -6 and three strokes back. This group contains 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship winner Lexi Thompson of Coral Springs, Florida, 2023 Women’s PGA Championship winner Ruoning Yin of Kunming, China, Carlota Ciganda of Pamplona, Spain, 2016 Women’s British Open champion and 2018 United States Women’s Open champion Ariya Jutanugarn of Bangkok, Thailand, and Hye-jin Choi of Gimhae, South Korea.
