Milwaukee Bucks power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo of Athens, Greece recorded his second career NBA buzzer beater on Monday. He accomplished the feat on Monday in a 117-115 Milwaukee Bucks win over the Indiana Pacers.
Anteotokounmpo’s game-winning field goal was from 16 feet. It broke a 115-115 deadlock. In the Bucks’s win, Anteotokounmpo had the double-double as he had 33 points and 13 rebounds. He made 14 of 21 field goals, made four of nine free throws, and made one of two three-point shots. Antetokounmpo also had five assists, two steals and was a +8.
The first buzzer beater in Antetokounmpo’s career came on January 4, 2017 in a 105-104 Bucks win over the New York Knicks at the famous Madison Square Garden. Antetokounmpo made a two-point jump shot from 15 feet with the Bucks trailing 104-103.
The first buzzer beater this season was made by Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers in a 116-115 Lakers win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 29. The second buzzer beater this season was made by Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers on Halloween in a 126-124 Clippers win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
So far this season. Antetokounmpo is averaging a double-double. He is averaging 32.3 points per game, and 12.6 rebounds per game. Antetokounmpo also has 6.3 assists per game, and one block per game, with a field goal percentage of .677, three point percentage of .600, and a free throw percentage of .620. Antetokounmpo is part of a new era of NBA centres not afraid to pass the ball or shoot from downtown.
With the win, the Bucks improved to a record of five wins and two losses. They have since lost 128-100 to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
