FREE: The Plunge’s Black Book: Horses Running At Rosehill 12/3
March 11, 2022

The Sydney autumn carnival moves to Rosehill and is headlined by the G1 Coolmore where a crack field of fillies and mares will do battle for breeding riches. Talented 2yos will also do battle to secure final spots in next week’s Golden Slipper. I’ve picked out a Hawkes 2yo that produced a sensational finish last start and a promising 3yo colt from the same yard.

Rosehill Race 3 – Magic
Magic was sensational on debut in the G2 Silver Slipper when the Snitzel colt was still at the rear of the field at the 200m and charged home to claim 2nd place. He will be better for the experience and will be fully wound up for this last chance grasp at a Slipper start.

Rosehill Race 5 – Remarque
Remarque is another colt from the Hawkes yard that I have followed since his debut preparation as a 2yo. He has always shown promise but immaturity has often let him down in races stronger than this. He returned from a spell with two impressive trial wins and I feel like it’s time for the penny to drop.
Last prep he placed behind 3yo superstars Anamoe and Paulele who would both be long odds-on in this field. He is weighted beautifully with only 53kg and has the tactical speed to sit just behind favourite Rule of Law who has the difficult task to claiming a 6th straight victory this preparation.
